Vinca major or periwinkle is an evergreen groundcover of indefinite spread, with glossy leaves and tubular, 5-lobed, bright blue flowers late spring-early fall. Grows best in sun and moist soils. Hardy to USDA Zone 7. Mildly poisonous if eaten. Vinca major var. oxyloba also known as 'Dartington Star' has striking narrow petals.
