Citrus, x meyeri, commonly called Meyer’s lemon, is a hybrid Lemon between Citrus limon (lemon) and Citrus reticulata (mandarin orange). Introduced into the U.S. by Frank Meyer who reportedly found the plant in 1908 near Peking, China. Sweeter than traditional lemons with a distinctive elongated oval fruit, it is very productive and a popular fruit for the home grower, chefs and farmers alike. Dwarf varieties also available. Fertilize three times a year with a food formulated for citrus.
