Common name: Chinese evergreen. A popular houseplant that does well indoors in low light. Feed with a slow release or organic fertilizer formulated for container houseplants. There are many cultivars, evergreen and variegated. Do not allow plant to sit in water as this may lead to root rot. It is best to water in the sink and allow it to completely drain out before returning it to its location. Can be grown outdoors in shade and where there is no winter frost.
