Sedum spectabile 'Herbstfreude' Syn. 'Autumn Joy'. This has been reclassified under Hylotelephium spectabile. All the above names are still used in the horticultural trade. Deep pink flowers in fall. Deciduous: opposite or whorled, ovate to elliptic, slightly scalloped, toothed, grey-green leaves to 8cm (3in) long. Herbaceous: clump-forming perennial succulent with upright unbranched stems. Produces flowers with prominent stamens in dense, flat cymes to 15cm (6in) across.
