Elephant ears are grown in garden beds and containers for its large, heart-shaped leaves and tropical flair. From solid green through wild patterns and distinct veins to nearly solid purple-black, there are many varieties to choose. Cold tolerance varies by variety. Also used as a houseplant in bright, indirect light with regular water.
